Overview In this role you will lead the Government Cloud platform releases, ensuring end-to-end delivery and governance. You will steer a team of engineers, set strategy, and own the go/no-go criteria for ship decisions. You'll drive a multi-quarter plan to reduce release risk and time-to-market, including trunk-based development and progressive rollout practices. You will collaborate across functions to align release readiness with compliance and customer needs, and you will participate in high-stakes launch decisions. Responsibilities- Own the release process for Government releases: planning, branching/versioning strategy, release readiness, cutover, verification, rollback
- Manage the release calendar and cross-team dependency mapping; balance timelines, quality signals, and commitments
- Define and enforce go/no-go criteria and readiness definitions
- Serve as escalation point for release-impacting incidents, including after-hours for major launches
- Lead and grow a 10-15 engineer team; coaching, performance, and on-call workload rotation
- Develop a multi-quarter roadmap to reduce release risk and cycle time (trunk-based development, feature flags, canaries, automated gates, one-click rollback)
- Partner with platform teams to scale tooling and retire toil; collaborate with Engineering, Product, QA, SRE, Support, Security, Docs, Marketing, Legal/Compliance
- Communicate status, risk, and decisions to senior leadership; run blameless post-release reviews and implement improvements
- Ensure releases meet change management, separation-of-duties, and audit requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI, SOX as applicable)
Key requirements- Experience leading release management for large-scale software programs
- People management of a 10-15 engineer team; performance and career development
- Ability to define "ready to ship" criteria and manage go/no-go processes
- Strong cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Product, QA, SRE, Security, Legal/Compliance
- Familiarity with governance and audit standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, PCI, SOX) as applicable
