Overview As Environmental Compliance Manager you will lead IDEX's environmental compliance program globally, shaping policies, audits, and risk reduction across 50+ businesses. You'll partner with EHS, sustainability, and corporate teams to elevate performance and reduce regulatory risk. The role demands cross functional collaboration, global regulatory expertise, and hands on program execution. You'll travel to sites to drive continuous improvement and ensure governance aligns with IDEX's sustainability goals.

Responsibilities- Serve as SME for environmental compliance, strategy, risk, impact reduction, and auditing for business units
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, programs, and strategies in line with local, state, and federal rules with external consultants and internal EHS
- Expand the environmental audit program using a risk-based approach and drive corrective actions
- Oversee corporate environmental requirements (permitting, waste management, chemical management, remediation, environmental reserves)
- Lead incident reviews, investigations of spills/releases and follow-up actions to drive improvement
- Train and mentor EHS professionals across business units
- Engage regulatory authorities and represent IDEX with external stakeholders
- Monitor regulatory trends and prepare for emerging requirements; implement electronic recordkeeping
- Support due diligence for acquisitions and integrate environmental compliance in new targets
- Oversee environmental consultants, engineering firms, and vendors; build efficiency across enterprise
- Support sustainability programs and coordinate tracking for meeting goals
- Identify and manage environmental applications within EHS software (Benchmark Gensuite)
- Develop and track KPIs to measure improvement and risk reduction
- Lead audits and corrective actions to ensure compliance
- Partner with external consultants and contractors for projects
- Perform ad hoc duties as required
Key requirements- 10+ years of related experience with leadership in environmental compliance
- Experience in multi-site and global manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Strong interest in environmental issues and sustainability
- Advanced knowledge of global environmental regulations (US, Canada, Europe, India, China)
- Experience evaluating external environmental consultants or engineering firms
- Experience conducting risk assessments and environmental audits
- Experience with energy, waste, and water reduction strategies is a plus
- Proven ability to engage people across organizations and locations to build a culture of compliance
- Team player with conceptual, flexible, and strategic thinking; solid PM skills
