Overview In this role you will design, implement, and support process control systems to meet production goals in a containerboard facility. You will work with DCS, PLCs, and industrial applications to optimize operations and troubleshoot issues with durable, long-term solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure reliable, safe performance. This position offers variety in scheduling to support production and opportunities to shape control strategies in a real-world manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and diagnose root causes to deliver lasting fixes
- Tackle complex problems with minimal guidance
- Evaluate processes and equipment operation and integrate drives and systems
- Plan and manage process improvement projects
- Read and interpret P&IDs, loop sheets, and electrical drawings
- Learn new programming languages and understand control loop dynamics and tuning
- Work with DCS and PLC platforms (Honeywell Experion, Rockwell RS Logix 5000, Mod 300, Modicon)
- Define project scopes and manage diverse technical projects
- Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
- Demonstrate urgency and customer-focused mindset
- Serve as a knowledge resource for colleagues with less experience
- Maintain proficiency with Honeywell Experion and Rockwell PLC products
Key requirements- Proven experience in process controls/automation
- Experience with PLCs (Rockwell preferred), HMIs, and automated control systems
- Experience programming and hardware management in industrial process control platforms and networks
- Experience reviewing basic loop sheets and/or P&IDs
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship
