Overview In this role you lead rolling stock engineering consulting teams and drive business development to grow rail fleet projects. You will provide strategic guidance on procurement, upgrades, and new technologies, while overseeing project progress and budgets up to $40 million. You work with clients and stakeholders to resolve critical issues and ensure integration across disciplines. The position is Seattle-based with periodic travel, offering a meaningful chance to shape rolling stock programs and client partnerships.

Responsibilities- Lead rolling stock engineering consulting teams and oversee project delivery
- Drive business development and client relationship growth
- Provide strategic advice on vehicle procurement and performance improvement
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure system integration
- Manage project budgets and monitor cost, scope, and quality
- Develop and review technical specifications and reports
- Lead or participate in design reviews and stakeholder meetings
- Allocate staff to projects and oversee workloads and professional development
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of time
Key requirements- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 10 years of senior rolling stock experience
- 10 years in specification development and cross-disciplinary engineering activities
- 5 years in rail vehicle procurement and capital program delivery
- 5 years in proposal development and client-facing technical support
- 2 years in contract budget management and project leadership
- Experience with various rail modes and vehicle types; knowledge of subsystems
- Ability to convert client requirements into RFPs for capital equipment
- Experience in asset management and project management for rail vehicle procurement
