Overview As a licensed Electrical Engineer in our water/wastewater practice, you lead design and engineering for varied projects and serve as Engineer-of-Record. You select and specify electrical systems, guide design through models and drawings, and manage scope, budget and schedule. You'll mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and partners, and contribute to proposals and standards. Responsibilities- Act as Engineer-of-Record for projects with varying complexity
- Evaluate, select, and engineer electrical systems and components
- Develop designs via sketches, models, and diagrams; create 3D electrical system models
- Lead development of construction documents and specifications
- Coordinate project teams and stakeholders, including owners, consultants, and contractors
- Prepare cost estimates and contribute to proposals and business development
- Manage project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule
- Oversee constructability reviews and quality assurance
- Review deliverables and mentor junior engineers
- Develop and enforce electrical group standards and specifications
Key requirements- Requisite knowledge of electrical and building codes; strong understanding of water/wastewater projects
- Experience leading multi-phase project document production and coordination
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Licensed Professional Engineer; 7-8 years of experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and lead teams through all project phases
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation; familiarity with Revit an asset
- Experience with power system software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower an asset
- Field experience and capability to manage field reviews and construction phase services
