Overview As a Staff Civil Designer, you will lead civil design efforts across site development, utilities, stormwater, and road projects within a project team. You will develop production drawings, perform design calculations, and adapt designs for non-routine tasks of substantial variety. You will ensure design compliance with codes and specifications while coordinating revisions and QA reviews. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio and cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver scalable, compliant civil solutions. You will shape project outcomes by applying technical expertise and clear communication to stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Design civil engineering projects including site development, roads, utilities, and related facilities
- Develop production drawings with problem analysis and layout for complex tasks
- Execute design work using prescribed methods and refine sketches and calculations
- Incorporate design codes and specifications into deliverables
- Review design drawings for quality, scope, budget, and schedule
- Prepare volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and upland site grading
- Revise project drawings and manage plot files and project data
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to resolve drawing issues
- Perform site evaluations, data analysis, and environmental planning where needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor in Drafting Technology or related field with 7+ years of experience, or Associate with 8 years, or 9 years progressive detailing and design experience
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel
- Expert knowledge of civil design theory, calculations, and systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline team
