Overview In this role you support clinical diagnostics and diverse research through electron microscopy in Mayo Clinic's EM Core. You will process tissues, operate specialized instruments, and ensure accurate documentation while training is provided. You'll work with clinical and research samples, contributing to ultrastructural analysis and communication with pathologists and researchers. Responsibilities- Tissue processing, embedding, and ultrathin sectioning
- Operate and maintain specialized laboratory instrumentation
- Verify accuracy of laboratory records and maintain regulatory-compliant documentation
- Perform tissue examination with electron microscopy and report findings to pathologists and researchers
- Receive training for required procedures; opportunities for advancement based on performance
- Collaborate with team and ensure safe handling of chemicals and biohazardous materials
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in biology or other life science
- Experience in a laboratory setting and in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Highly organized with ability to multitask and follow established laboratory protocols
- Commitment of three or more years preferred
- Knowledge of basic histology preferred
- Ability to work with clinical/patient tissue specimens and research samples
- Strong work ethic

- Electron microscopy experience (highly desirable)
