Overview In this Team Leader role, you guide and develop a high-performing environmental team within GHD's Central CAR South group. You will align delivery with the business plan, manage workload and quality, and coach staff toward growth while maintaining strong client relationships. You contribute to complex contaminated-site projects, regulatory compliance, and risk-aware execution. This role blends leadership with hands-on technical delivery to advance sustainable remediation outcomes. You'll work across a broad network to deliver integrated solutions that meet safety, budget, and client expectations.
Responsibilities- Provide direct line-management for team members; promote core values and employee development
- Support business plan execution: workload planning, resourcing, systems, processes, risk management, and on-time delivery
- Drive client satisfaction, bid evaluations, technical reviews, and business development within the US Central CAR South portfolio
- Monitor productivity, timekeeping, performance, and HSE/quality standards for consistent delivery
- Lead or support contaminated site assessment, remediation, closure, regulatory compliance, and environmental consulting projects
- Mentor and coach staff; support career growth and identify leadership potential
- Collaborate with One GHD network to deliver integrated solutions and ensure consistency
- Uphold governance, accountability, and formal people-leadership duties alongside substantive role
- Maintain safe work environment and adhere to HSE and Quality systems; ensure project safety/quality requirements
- Apply knowledge of federal/state environmental requirements, incl. EPA programs and state regulations
- Prepare or supervise technical writings, proposals, work plans, reports, and regulatory submittals
- Travel periodically for meetings, project needs, and business development
Key requirements- 10+ years in environmental consulting with focus on contaminated site assessment, remediation, regulatory compliance, and project delivery
- Demonstrated people-leadership experience (supervising, mentoring, or managing staff/resources)
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration
- Solid understanding of Central Region environmental regulatory programs; experience with Texas, Colorado, New Mexico or similar frameworks
- Experience preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, and compliance programs
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, safety, financial performance, and client commitments
