Overview As a Trial Attorney, you will lead and participate in complex litigation and courtroom trials. You will guide case development from intake to trial, draft pleadings, manage discovery, and prepare witnesses for testimony. You collaborate with associates, clients, and experts to pursue favorable outcomes and mentor junior team members. This role sits at the intersection of high-stakes litigation, strategic advocacy, and cross-functional collaboration. Your work supports the firm's reputation for courtroom excellence and client service in diverse industries.
Responsibilities- Manage all phases of litigation from case evaluation to trial preparation and presentation.
- Conduct trials in state and federal courts, including jury selection and opening/closing arguments.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements with strong legal writing.
- Handle depositions, e-discovery, and coordination with experts and consultants.
- Advise clients on strategy, risks, and settlement options; maintain clear client communication.
- Supervise and train junior attorneys and paralegals; review work product for quality.
- Collaborate with business development teams to support client intake and grow practice areas.
- Stay current on governing law and litigation trends; engage in continuing legal education and firm initiatives.
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) or LL.M from a T14 law school; active California State Bar admission.
- Proven experience as an Associate or Attorney with demonstrable courtroom and trial work.
- Strong trial skills: witness examination, courtroom presence, persuasive advocacy.
- Excellent legal research, analytical reasoning, and written/oral communication.
- Ability to manage heavy caseloads, meet deadlines, and handle complex issues independently.
- Experience supervising junior attorneys and working in team-based litigation.
- Willingness to travel and attend court appearances in multiple jurisdictions.
