Senior Mixed Signal Electronics Design Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Electronic/Electrical Engineer at Draper, you design and validate hardware that enables field-ready microelectronics for national security missions. You will work within a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team to translate requirements into robust hardware architectures, build prototypes, and support manufacturing. You will mentor teammates, document designs, and drive solutions from concept to sustainment. This role offers meaningful impact by delivering innovative, reliable electronics at mission scale.

Responsibilities
  • Translate project requirements into hardware architectures in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Prototype, debug, and test hardware deliverables including PCBs and circuits
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation and provide ongoing support
  • Research and enable innovative, cost-effective solutions for cutting-edge designs
  • Engage engineers and partners to develop reliable end solutions
  • Lead complex problems with limited direction and adapt to changing requirements
  • Independently perform complex electronic architectures and designs
  • Communicate status to project leadership and customers and manage cross-functional tasks
  • Mentor less experienced teammates and provide constructive feedback
  • Support business development and proposal activities
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in electronic design and ability to write detailed design specifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Thorough understanding of engineering theories and procedures
  • Experience with hardware design lifecycle and testing
