Tax Senior Manager, DT&I (State and Local Tax)

Overview

In this role, you drive the lifecycle of proprietary tax technology solutions that enable Service delivery within the tax practice. You align the product roadmaps with tax strategy, lead cross-functional teams, and manage value realization from implementations. You will oversee requirements, testing, release logistics, and change management to ensure successful deployments. The position offers opportunities to influence tax technology strategy and scale enterprise-grade applications. You will work with stakeholders to deliver meaningful, sustainable outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Shape and prioritize the product roadmap to align with tax practice strategy
  • Manage scope, budget, and timelines; lead the product team to deliver value
  • Coordinate with Value Management Office to track business value
  • Evaluate capability requests and recommend options within the DT&I strategy
  • Oversee requirements/user stories and testing plans
  • Coordinate release logistics with tax practice and technical teams
  • Ensure prerelease approvals and deployment/change management plans
  • Develop and monitor maintenance plans and budgets; manage post-release support
  • Allocate resources across projects; mentor PMs and senior associates
  • Act as primary liaison with stakeholders and communicate proactively
  • Present technology stack capabilities in pursuits; educate others on tools and capabilities
Key requirements
  • Eight+ years in tax and/or technology product management
  • Four+ years in tax and/or technology product management (preferred)
  • Experience with enterprise-grade tax applications supporting professional services
  • Experience with process design/improvement (preferred)
  • CPA, JD, EA, PMP or similar certification (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira (preferred)
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE OIT and ONESOURCE Tax Provision (preferred)
  • Strong leadership and mentoring
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Collaboration across cross-functional teams
