Overview As a Product Design Engineer on the Pixel team, you will design and prototype the next generation of Pixel devices. You collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to bring parts from concept to manufacture, balancing performance, manufacturability, and aesthetics. You will diagnose design and reliability issues and implement corrective actions, contributing to a scalable, product-oriented development process. Responsibilities- Design subsystems or parts from concept to production
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams throughout design and manufacturing
- Identify root causes of design, manufacturing, or reliability issues and implement corrective actions
- Balance functionality, sustainability, reliability, manufacturability, human factors, and aesthetics
- Participate in design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts; contribute to product architecture and system integration
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to deliver parts through to manufacture
- Support manufacturing-oriented development and ensure alignment with product goals and user experience
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field or equivalent practical experience
- 3 years designing mechanical components (plastic/metal parts, assemblies, PCBs, or flexes)
- 3 years using CAD tools (3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks)
