Overview

As Firmware QA Engineering Manager, you lead the Hardware Accelerate team building the firmware quality foundation that enables robust research-focused platforms. You partner with product and cross-functional stakeholders to shape scalable solutions and best practices for reliability, security, and performance. You act as a hands-on leader, mentoring engineers across backend, iOS, and Android while driving delivery and growth. This role blends technical contributions with people leadership to foster innovation, psychological safety, and continuous learning in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a cross-functional engineering team integrating embedded, mobile, backend, and third party services to support research initiatives
  • Define technology strategy, architecture, and design for features enabling research goals
  • Collaborate with product and stakeholders to translate research needs into scalable systems
  • Manage third-party vendors and technology relationships
  • Maintain engineering best practices in development, testing, and deployment
  • Contribute technically as a player-coach while driving team delivery and growth
  • Mentor and coach team members for professional development
  • Foster a culture of innovation, psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous learning
Key requirements
  • Hands-on software development experience with proven engineering management track record
  • Strong technical skills in software development, testing, and deployment
  • Experience leading high-performing, cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects
  • Excellent communication and ability to align technical and business priorities
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with ownership mindset
  • Commitment to leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks while maintaining high-quality standards
