Overview

In this role you contribute to the development and integration of software for U.S. Navy tactical systems. You work within an Agile team to deliver end-to-end software solutions across the lifecycle, from requirements and design to testing and troubleshooting. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, system-level analysis, and rigorous documentation to support mission-critical defense platforms. You will apply strong programming and engineering skills to shape robust, scalable software for complex radar-enabled systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software for tactical defense systems
  • Participate in full SDLC in an Agile environment
  • Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of distributed systems
  • Analyze requirements and contribute to design and implementation
  • Debug, perform root cause analysis, and resolve defects
  • Collaborate with systems, test, and integration teams
  • Support technical reviews, documentation, and process compliance
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-7 years of software development experience (C++ preferred)
  • Proficiency in C++ (or equivalent OO language/Matlab/scripting)
  • High proficiency in at least two of: Systems Engineering, Software and System Analysis, Requirements development, Verification and validation, Trade studies, Modeling and simulation, Integration and test
  • Experience in Agile environments
  • Object-oriented design and development (patterns, modular architecture)
  • Linux/UNIX experience
  • Eclipse IDE experience
  • UML and software modeling familiarity
  • Experience with automated or driver-based testing environments
  • Radar-related domain experience and math background (linear algebra, statistics, signal processing)
  • Current active government clearance at least secret level or higher
  • Tools: ClearCase, JIRA, xUnit/Junit/CPPUnitLite, Assemblers, CMMI Level 5 processes/Procedures
  • Radar/system knowledge and Cameo SysML modeling experience
