Overview As a Structure Lead/Responsible Engineer with Lockheed Martin Space, you will drive the design and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems for space applications. You will collaborate with the Golden Dome Engineering Team to translate mission needs into robust, manufacturable solutions. You will tackle non-conformance disposition and structural analysis to ensure reliability and performance. This role offers a chance to influence critical space infrastructure and contribute to national security objectives.

Responsibilities- Research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems (instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines)
- Apply engineering research across the life cycle: planning, development, testing
- Dispositi on non-conformances in mechanical hardware
- Interpret engineering drawings for aerospace structural mechanical design
- Utilize CAD tools for model-based product definition and design validation
- Ensure understanding of mechanics, structures, materials and analysis
- Communicate effectively in written and oral form to stakeholders
- Support security clearance readiness and process compliance
Key requirements- Bachelor in related discipline or equivalent experience
- Strong program execution across all life cycle phases
- Experience dispositioning non-conformances in mechanical hardware
- Aerospace structural mechanical design experience with engineering drawings interpretation
- Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, I-DEAS) and model-based definition
- Fundamentals of mechanical engineering: structures, mechanisms, materials, analysis
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret clearance
