Associate Director Site Engineering & Design - Data Center Construction

As an embedded member of a large-scale data center program, you drive RFI governance, design coordination, and documentation management to keep complex capital projects on track. You will bridge design, construction, and program management, ensuring timely responses and clear design deliverables. This role emphasizes rigorous governance, technical writing, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver mission-critical facilities. • Manage and maintain the RFI register with prioritization and tracking through resolution
• Draft proposed responses for routine RFIs using contracts, drawings, specs, and precedents
• Coordinate review and approval of responses with client design representatives
• Escalate design changes, code interpretations, schedule impacts, or cost implications to design authority
• Monitor RFI status and turnaround times to support schedule objectives
• Maintain audit trails of RFI authorship, review, and issuance
• Coordinate design deliverables across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and specialty disciplines
• Track design risks, issues, and actions; ensure timely follow-up
• Facilitate design coordination meetings and document action items
• Identify design process bottlenecks affecting execution or construction
• Support document management including design basis, RFIs, submittals, design issue logs, and lessons learned
• Promote cross-functional collaboration among project stakeholders
• Prepare and deliver program reports on RFI metrics, design status, and risks
• Analyze RFI trends to drive process improvements and governance enhancements
• Ensure compliance with documentation standards and approval workflows
• SOX control responsibilities may apply where relevant

• 8+ years in project engineering, design management, construction administration, or technical coordination on large capital projects
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary design teams through design development and construction phases
• Strong knowledge of RFI, submittal, and design change management processes
• Experience with design-build, EPC, or traditional delivery models
• Proficiency with Procore, Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 or equivalent systems
