VP Business Development & Strategy

Overview

In this role you will lead the development and execution of the business development vision and strategy to drive revenue growth and market expansion. You will work closely with the CEO, CFO and executive team to shape plans, financial analysis, and executive materials, while personally engaging in valuation, diligence and market research. The position extends beyond traditional M&A to include strategic planning, partnerships, and enterprise projects. You will balance setting direction with hands-on execution to deliver measurable impact at scale. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to influence corporate growth within Manitowoc's industrial product ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Lead enterprise strategic planning and portfolio planning with finance inputs and executive materials
  • Oversee corporate development and M&A execution including target evaluation, modeling, business cases, diligence, negotiation support and integration planning
  • Research the business environment, competitors, partnerships and customers to generate ideas for products, services and alliances
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and operators to ensure smooth handoffs into transaction execution
  • Manage external advisors such as investment banks and valuation specialists
  • Conduct ongoing industry, competitive and macroeconomic research and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Prepare Board and executive materials and present investment recommendations with clear financial justification
  • Build credibility within Manitowoc's dealer and industry ecosystem, including valuation considerations for family- and owner-led businesses
  • Support FP&A, Investor Relations, treasury and other enterprise projects aligned with transaction cadence
Key requirements
  • Approximately 8+ years in corporate development, M&A, strategy, investment banking, or related analytical fields
  • Proven ability to build complex financial models and perform valuation analysis
  • Experience leading or contributing to diligence, transaction execution and cross-functional workstreams
  • Strong business and financial acumen; accounting or broader corporate finance experience advantageous
  • Industry experience in industrial products or willingness to learn; international/global experience a plus
