Overview As a Manager on Deloitte's Indirect Tax Digital Enablement team, you drive technology-enabled solutions for complex indirect tax issues across a diverse client base. You'll grow your technical expertise in indirect taxes and emerging tech while leading or contributing to large, multi-faceted projects. You collaborate with architects and leadership to deliver performant solutions and maintain essential technical documentation. This role combines tax know-how with software development to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency, offering a meaningful impact on clients and the tax function.

Responsibilities- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through emerging technologies
- Develop and maintain features for existing applications and work on Green Field projects
- Collaborate with architects and leadership to implement performant solutions
- Review and test code to ensure quality and performance
- Write SQL queries and understand multi-environment impact
- Communicate project lifecycle implications with leadership
- Draft technical procedures and user guides for applications
- Assist with ad hoc troubleshooting and production incidents
- Stay aware of and apply new and emerging technologies
Key requirements- Hybrid work model with in-person co-location 2-3 days/week
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields
- 5+ years experience in accounting or corporate tax environment
- Ability to travel 10% on average
- Experience in Indirect Tax Compliance automation and business processes (Sales/Use Tax, Property Tax, Excise Tax, Premium Tax, Gross Receipt Tax)
- Experience with .NET, SQL Server, Azure, Design Patterns, Databricks
- Understanding of code patterns, Table Storage and non-relational databases, multi-threading
- One of: CPA, Attorney, Enrolled Agent, or relevant tech certifications (PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt)
- Preferred: advanced degree in tax or law, and tech stack including C#, .NET Core, Azure, Angular, AI components
- Excellent written and verbal communication
