Power Plant SME - Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will apply deep electrical design, interconnection, and operation knowledge to support power plant, substation, and transmission projects. You will work with project teams to review designs, track construction and O&M status, and maintain strong client relationships across private and public stakeholders. You'll present findings to executives and help drive business development in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a remote opportunity within the US, with potential proximity to Denver or Framingham. You will help shape utility-scale solutions for a broad mix of generation technologies, from wind and solar to energy storage and thermal assets.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical design and interconnection review for power plant, substation, and transmission projects and prepare associated reports
  • Attend project meetings to confirm status of EIC construction, operation, and maintenance
  • Manage client engagements and ongoing relationships with private equity, infrastructure, banks, developers, and advisors
  • Present work product results and findings to client executives
  • Conduct business development with internal and external clients and prospects
  • Support projects and team members, independently and collaboratively
  • Develop and expand key client relationships
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with eight+ years of experience in electrical operation, maintenance and/or design of power generation and substation assets or related experience
  • Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, controls, and protection relaying
  • Experience across wind, solar PV, battery energy storage systems, and thermal generation
  • Strong track record in client relations
  • PE licensure is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Favorable if experienced with electrical equipment such as synchronous generators, excitation, inverters, motors, transformers, breakers, disconnects, capacitor banks, and transmission lines
