Overview

As an Attorney at Liberty Mutual, you will lead specialized Texas DTPA litigation from assignment to resolution, shaping strategy and outcomes for claims of moderate value. You work within a dedicated legal team, collaborating with Claims and senior attorneys to manage risk, ensure compliance, and drive efficient processes. This role combines hands-on litigation with advisory responsibilities, mentoring, and opportunities to refine innovative workflows. You will operate in a flexible, remote-friendly setting with a focus on work-life balance and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Independently manage all phases of Texas DTPA litigation from assignment through resolution
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and related documents
  • Lead settlement negotiations and participate in hearings, trials, and mediations
  • Support Senior Trial Counsel in all litigation stages through trial
  • Develop and refine legal strategies for discovery, investigation, and trial preparation
  • Utilize e-discovery tools, case management systems, and data analysis to streamline workflows
  • Provide clear legal opinions and strategic advice to clients and Claims Representatives
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys
  • Design and deliver training for Legal, Claims, and related staff; mentor junior attorneys
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and compliant with MRPC and company policies
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow improvements
Key requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB from an accredited law school
  • Texas bar admission in good standing
  • minimum 5 years of insurance litigation experience
  • proven ability to manage moderately complex litigation successfully
  • strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • proficiency with advanced e-discovery tools and case management software; remote collaboration experience
