Overview As Senior Accountant, you will lead the month-end close and ensure timely, GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will work within the General Ledger team to drive accuracy and governance while championing process improvements in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You will analyze complex transactions, prepare financial statements, and support inter-company, leases (ASC 842), and cash-flow activities. This role offers the chance to influence accounting governance and contribute to continuous improvement in a high-volume setting.
Responsibilities- Lead month-end close activities with complex journal entries and accruals
- Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and develop financial statements, including cash flow statements
- Reconcile inter-company transactions and manage JV/partner billings, cash calls, and distributions
- Evaluate leases and perform ASC 842 lease tests as needed
- Conduct monthly/quarterly balance sheet analysis
- Perform cash-flow analysis and collaborate with other accounting teams on unusual transactions
- Research technical accounting issues to ensure GAAP compliance
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and departmental tasks
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3-5+ years in progressive accounting or general ledger
- Strong GAAP knowledge and accounting concepts
- Experience with ERP accounting systems; Oracle preferred
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with partnerships/LLCs in midstream energy preferred
- Ability to operate in a high-volume transactional environment and drive data-driven analysis
