Overview In this role you lead a team of technical managers and engineers to enable end-to-end deployment, integration, automation, validation, and commissioning for Disney Cruise Line New Build initiatives. You will partner with SE, SRE, and business teams to drive an automation-first deployment and modernization of shipboard systems. You guide the approach from concept through maiden voyage, balancing technical depth with business priorities. Responsibilities- Lead and grow a team of Technical Project Managers and engineers across the New Build initiatives
- Oversee application integration to ensure a unified platform across deployment stages
- Provide governance and leadership to align ship readiness with milestones and maiden voyage timeline
- Design an automation-first deployment pipeline strategy and collaborate with release managers and stakeholders
- Oversee installation of operating systems, databases, and utilities, representing New Build in design discussions
- Translate organizational goals into clear team roadmaps and outcomes
- Manage budgets and financial processes for new build projects, including forecasting and accruals
- Serve as technical liaison across Disney Cruise Line, Imagineering, vendors, and international partners
- Champion modern delivery tooling and platform engineering, driving standardization and automation
- Sponsor adoption of emerging tools to boost productivity and reduce manual effort
- Provide advisory leadership on delivery strategies for external partners and risk/long-term decisions
- Act as escalation point for readiness and testing to maintain delivery momentum
- Develop resource plans for building new ships and ensure smooth handoff to operations
Key requirements- Minimum 8 years of technology experience with at least 3+ years in leading projects across diverse teams
- Hands-on automation and infrastructure tooling experience (Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD)
- Experience guiding system or infrastructure architecture including scalability, performance, and security
- Excellent communication and persuasive leadership across a matrix organization
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with accountability for delivery
- Budget management experience for technology portfolios (forecasting, accruals)
- Practical experience with Agile software delivery and cross-functional teams
- Multi-vendor project management including offshore teams
- Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and modern Git workflows
