Overview GPI seeks a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead bridge design and rehabilitation efforts for PENNDOT and local agencies across PA. You will design superstructures, plan rehabilitation, and develop foundation schemes while mentoring staff and coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams on multiple concurrent projects. The role covers a range of structures including multi-span and signature bridges, walls, and dam-related elements within a 50+ year, employee-focused firm. Responsibilities- Develop superstructure designs for new and replacement bridges
- Develop rehabilitation plans and details for bridge projects
- Develop foundation designs for bridges and culverts
- Prepare and review civil/structural calculations, drawings, construction specs, and cost estimates; coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
- Meet with clients, mentor junior staff, and manage projects
Key requirements- BS in Civil Engineering
- 15+ years experience designing structural and/or bridge projects
- PE license
- Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation (preferred)
- Experience with MATHCAD, BrR, Staad, and OpenBridge (preferred)
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFR, AASHTO Standard Specifications, AASHTO MBE; PENNDOT and local federal-aid processes a plus
- Valid driver's license and clean MVR
