Overview In this role, you will define and drive Vanguard's end-user technology strategy at enterprise scale, serving as a hands-on yet strategic architect who sets multi-year direction and standards. You will lead modernization across Windows, macOS, mobility, virtualization, and productivity platforms, acting as a technical force multiplier within Workplace Engineering. You'll own the roadmap, governance, and reliability practices to raise the bar on design quality and operational efficiency. Responsibilities- Own and evolve the 3-year Workplace technology roadmap for endpoints, mobility, virtualization, and productivity platforms
- Drive modernization efforts aligned with strategic initiatives like Windows 11 adoption, cloud VDI, and MDM modernization
- Define reference architectures, patterns, and guardrails across end-user technology including Windows/macOS management, mobility, and productivity ecosystems
- Lead hands-on evaluations and translate findings into standards, adoption plans, and operational models
- Establish governance to prevent platform drift and enable safe acceleration, including RBAC and change control
- Act as escalation point for cross-domain end-user technology failures and drive root-cause analysis into repeatable improvements
- Set engineering expectations for automation-first practices, CI/CD-enabled workflows, and observability across endpoints and productivity platforms
- Mentor senior engineers and architects and coordinate across security, identity/access, and platform teams
- Collaborate as a primary architecture liaison with partner organizations to drive durable designs
Key requirements- 10+ years in enterprise end-user/workplace engineering with ownership of large-scale platforms and complex transformations
- Proven ability to set technical strategy and translate into roadmaps, standards, and measurable outcomes
- Hands-on expertise across modern endpoint and workplace platforms (Intune/Jamf, M365, identity/access, automation)
- Strong automation, reliability, risk management, and design-review capabilities
