Overview In this role you lead the plant's technical operations, overseeing mining, process, automation, IS/IT/OT, quality control, and capital projects. You drive efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality while ensuring safety and environmental compliance. You collaborate across production, maintenance, and engineering to hit KPIs and strategic goals. You will develop training programs and mentor the Technical Department, advancing continuous improvement. Responsibilities- Lead and optimize cement manufacturing processes across mining, process, automation, IS/IT/OT, quality control, and capital projects
- Manage and develop the Technical Department team, engineers, and interns
- Drive plant performance through KPI analysis and implementation of cost-effective improvements
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, technical services, sales, and engineering to meet plant goals and strategic plans
- Oversee training programs and SOPs, QA measures, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Direct capital planning and project management, including Five-Year Capital Plan and project closeout
- Provide technical support for equipment procurement and system upgrades
- Oversee automation and process control systems, including AI, APC, and digitalization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental, health and safety regulations
- Support IS/IT/OT engineering for cyber security and data-driven plant diagnostics
- Analyze performance, identify opportunities, and implement incremental process improvements
- Champion CRH/AGC initiatives to maximize throughput and cost efficiency
- Ensure CO2 roadmap targets are defined and pursued
Key requirements- Minimum 10 years of cement plant technical experience
- Bachelor in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end cement manufacturing operations and quality control laboratory methods
- Proven leadership with ability to attract and develop high-performing teams
- Strong project management skills and budget discipline
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across departments and with external stakeholders
- Ability to read and interpret technical data and to make data-driven decisions
