Overview As Senior Electrical and I&C Designer at AECOM, you will lead electrical and instrumentation design within multi-disciplinary teams on power-generation projects, including first-of-a-kind stellarator initiatives. You'll drive CAD deliverables, coordinate data-rich models, and collaborate across engineers and project managers to ensure safe, constructible designs. Responsibilities- Serve as Electrical and I&C CAD lead for projects of varying size
- Oversee electrical and I&C deliverables ensuring constructability and safety
- Perform complex CAD tasks and coordinate drawings for integrated digital content
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers through all design stages
- Lead discipline CAD design on projects, managing budgets, staffing, and schedules
- Prepare bills of materials and quantity takeoffs
- Utilize data sources such as laser scans, LiDAR, vendor files for project modeling
- Contribute to business development and proposal development
- Create, update, and enforce group-specific standards
- Participate in meetings and occasional travel
Key requirements- BA/BS + 6 years in power or industrial environment
- Experience managing Common Data Environments (ProjectWise, BIM 360, ACC)
- Physical design experience for power generation or industrial facilities
- Proficiency with laser scans/LiDAR data and 3D model integration
- Experience with CadWorx, Revit, Solidworks, ReCap, NX, AutoCAD Electrical, Elecdes
- Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and SQL
- Experience in collaborative model environments (Navisworks)
- Field or construction experience
- Strong understanding of electrical layouts, field instruments, wiring, and control systems
- 5+ years as discipline CAD lead
- Proven ability to lead remote teams and high-value centers
- Knowledge of safety standards and vendor documentation
