Transmission Line Project Engineer (Southeast) -Remote

Overview

In this role you will provide technical leadership for planning, design, and delivery of high voltage overhead transmission line projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop efficient project plans, schedules, and client interactions while upholding QA/QC and safety standards. You will influence project outcomes through engineering excellence and collaboration across departments. Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV
  • Develop initial project execution layouts and ensure an effective project plan
  • Create and maintain project schedules; lead weekly/bi-weekly project meetings
  • Coordinate with clients and project teams on status and deliverables
  • Maintain workflow and communication across multidisciplinary projects
  • Forecast upcoming project requirements for resource planning
  • Adhere to QA/QC procedures and safety standards
  • Demonstrate transmission line design expertise (PLS-CADD, structures, foundations, etc.)
  • Lead project teams of varying sizes; travel as needed
  • Support Project Manager with scope, schedule, and budget; develop client relationships
  • Support department with forecasting, recruitment, and process improvements
  • Uphold ethical decisions and contribute to business planning
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Key requirements
  • 7-10 years' experience in the transmission field designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
  • Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95
  • Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation
  • Strong English communication skills (written and oral)
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite
  • Proven safety record and adherence to health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies
