Overview As a Senior Engineer 2 in Nordstrom's Site Reliability Engineering team, you will contribute to building scalable, reliable systems that support millions of customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners, mentor engineers, and lead projects that raise operational excellence. You'll monitor performance, automate processes, and own on-call incident response, shaping how our systems perform at scale. Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet Nordstrom's operational standards
- Mentor engineers on SRE best practices
- Lead design and implementation of projects to improve operational excellence
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot reliability and scalability issues
- Develop and refine tools and automation for performance and efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical incidents
- Continuously seek workflow improvements and reduce manual effort through automation
- Contribute to documentation for systems and procedures
Key requirements- 10+ years in software engineering with a focus on site reliability or infrastructure
- Proficiency with Kubernetes and containerization
- Experience with Java, Go, Python
- Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Strong networking knowledge and understanding of network protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive issue detection
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Bachelor in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
