Overview In this role you will shape how the company is seen through external channels and partnerships. You will build authentic relationships with organizations and sponsors, and craft a strategy to communicate outcomes via targeted content and media connections. You'll work closely with marketing to align communications with the company's mission, brand, and goals. You will lead crisis communications readiness and guide public-facing messaging to support growth and community impact.
Responsibilities- Enhance brand presence through external channels reflecting company culture and mission
- Develop and nurture relationships with organizations we support
- Create a national content strategy leveraging sponsorships and product donations
- Collaborate with sponsors to build a content calendar with clear deliverables
- Identify new partnership opportunities with defined objectives, budgets, and timelines
- Prepare purpose-driven communications aligned with mission, vision, and goals
- Review and align corporate press releases and talking points with the company mission
- Coordinate local media relations for activities and events
- Build strong relationships with local media to position the company as a leader and responsible citizen
- Monitor media metrics and provide data-driven improvement recommendations
- Collaborate with regional teams to align media relations and communications
- Support initiatives through strategic communication planning with HR, leadership, and sales
- Understand legislation and industry trends affecting license to operate; assist with policy communications
- Lead crisis communications response and refine crisis plan
- Communicate effectively within Corporate Affairs and other departments; work in a team
- Assist with high-visibility projects and community/national events
- Create company content across media formats (text, graphics, video, photography)
- Perform other duties to meet company objectives
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in communication or public relations (stated)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in public affairs, communication, or PR marketing
- Experience in corporate communications planning and reputation management (plus)
- Ability to develop authentic stakeholder relationships aligned to the mission
- Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver materials on tight deadlines
- Experience with federal, state, and local legislation
- Understanding of media and ability to place stories and releases
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe programs
