Job description

Overview

In this role you will develop and optimize assembly processes to meet product specs and quality standards. You will work with the manufacturing manager to ensure standards are upheld and lead launches for new or revised products. You will analyze and improve equipment, processes, and controls to boost quality and throughput. You will collaborate across functions to support capital projects and provide technical guidance for senior leadership. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape manufacturing in a global, continuous-improvement environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design manufacturing systems with focus on continuous improvement for quality and throughput
  • Maintain process documentation (operator instructions, PFMEAs, process flow diagrams, error-proofing plans)
  • Evaluate proposals for new machinery and equipment and lead qualification
  • Provide technical plant-wide support and leadership on capital projects
  • Assist in cost estimates for new programs using concept drawings and cross-functional discussions
  • Maintain a physical presence in the workplace and support production systems
  • Update equipment to maintain serviceability and improve processes
  • Familiarity with torquing systems, electrical/hydraulic presses, automatic assembly, vision systems, and robotics
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years experience
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across functions and with senior management
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and mentor others
  • Ability to multitask and consider business impact beyond a single area
  • CAD proficiency (NX and/or AutoCAD) and solid MS Office skills
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Experience with machine tool specs, RFQ documentation, and best-practice drafting
