Overview As an Environmental Scientist at Jacobs, you contribute to environmental site characterization and remediation projects for public and private clients. You will work across field sites and offices in a hybrid setup to advance permit applications and regulatory compliance. You'll collaborate with regulators and multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, safe projects that improve communities. Responsibilities- Prepare federal, state, and local environmental permit applications (USACE, USFWS, NJDEP, CAFRA, etc.)
- Conduct wetland delineations and habitat assessments
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
- Manage project tasks or assist project management
- Mentor junior staff and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental compliance on site
- Perform field work ( 50%) and hybrid office work for project delivery
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of USACE and NJDEP environmental permitting experience
- Minimum 7 years of independently preparing permit applications for transportation, commercial, or energy projects
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to work under inclement conditions
- Competency with wetland delineations per USACE methods
- 40-hr HAZWOPER or ability to obtain
