Overview In this role you lead the design, development, and sustaining of electrical products, contributing hands-on technical work and mentorship. You collaborate cross-functionally to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions that meet performance, quality, and regulatory needs. You drive design optimization, manufacturability improvements, and customer-focused technical support. This role offers leadership opportunities and involvement in value engineering and product launches.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical products from concept through production release
- Generate and review calculations, CAD models, drawings, specifications, and BOMs
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation; implement design improvements
- Assist with product qualification, life testing, and compliance testing
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure manufacturability, repeatability, cost-effectiveness (DFM/DFA)
- Provide engineering support for production issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Participate in value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support customer applications by reviewing requirements and evaluating feasibility
- Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to resolve technical issues and support launches
- Participate in annual budget discussions and cost reduction projects
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers on design practices and problem solving
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of engineering experience including electrical product/component design
- Experience with Autodesk CAD tools and engineering analysis methods
