Overview

As Mechanical Senior Plant Engineer, you will support safe, reliable operation of hydroelectric facilities and partner with cross functional teams to deliver technical analyses and data driven recommendations. You'll lead investigations, monitor system reliability, and help shape maintenance and asset strategies for long term reliability. This role offers a meaningful chance to contribute to California's clean energy future by applying engineering expertise to critical infrastructure. You drive improvement in plant performance and collaborate to implement future technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee diagnostics, monitoring, and inspection activities; build cross functional knowledge transfer
  • Lead the preparation and communication of technical reports and project findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and implement asset performance strategies
  • Support and contribute to engineering and grid strategy initiatives, including innovative procedures and design recommendations
  • Assist in new equipment installation and startup; lead handover to ramp and sustaining phases
  • Lead junior engineers in investigating threats to the distribution system based on observations
  • Gather and correlate data via engineering studies and diagnostics
  • Facilitate training and professional development within the engineering team
  • Ensure protection of assets and sensitive information, maintaining high standards of conduct and data security
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or scientific/technical/math field (minimum)
  • Seven+ years of engineering experience in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments
  • Valid Class C Driver's License
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Experience in power generation, especially hydroelectric facilities
  • Experience managing mechanical asset projects including installation, commissioning, lifecycle support
  • Experience preparing and justifying capital projects with cost estimating
  • Familiarity with asset management programs and plant performance optimization
