Overview In this Senior Coastal Engineer role, you lead complex dredging, navigation, beach nourishment, and coastal restoration projects within HDR's Water group. You'll apply deep technical expertise, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver sustainable, resilient coastal solutions. Your work supports public health and infrastructure resilience while advancing environmental stewardship. Responsibilities- Lead analysis and design for dredging, navigation, coastal processes, beach nourishment, and restoration projects
- Develop channel layouts, borrow areas, placement designs, and dredging production estimates
- Provide project and task management on complex assignments; oversee advanced wave, sediment transport, and hydrodynamic modeling
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical reports
- Collect, analyze, and present data to clients and stakeholders; engage in public forums
- Mentor multidisciplinary teams; serve as Project Manager on larger efforts as needed
- Support business development with proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
- Minimum 10 years Water Resources experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
