Overview In this role you will lead and contribute to cutting-edge robotics research at the Seattle Robotics Lab, advancing manipulation and loco-manipulation through algorithms and real-world system integration. You will co-lead multi-disciplinary projects, publish impactful work, and transfer research into NVIDIA products. You'll mentor junior researchers while collaborating with product and engineering teams to scale innovations. This is a chance to shape next-generation robotics capabilities and contribute to grand challenges in the field.
Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Develop algorithms and methods for robotic manipulation and loco-manipulation for industrial and household use
- Integrate methods into real-world robotic systems including arms, mobile manipulators, humanoids, and dexterous hands
- Co-lead multi-person research projects spanning robotics and ML stacks
- Engage with academic community via publications, conferences, and code releases
- Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to transfer research into NVIDIA products
- Mentor interns and junior researchers and engineers
Key requirements- PhD in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of research experience after PhD (5+ preferred)
- Deep knowledge of robotics and AI theory and practice
- Proven research track record with publications in top venues
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional Python programming; familiarity with C++, CUDA; Warp is a plus
- Fluency in PyTorch and JAX
- Experience with ROS2 and physics simulation frameworks (Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, MuJoCo)
- Ability to work through complex simulation and real-world robotics challenges; robust workflows for training and evaluation
