Overview

In this role you will design and document mechanical systems for new and renovated facilities, working with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver contract drawings and energy-efficient solutions. You will lead field investigations, reviews of shop drawings, and production of reports across public, private, federal, and municipal projects. You will perform HVAC calculations and coordinate with clients, vendors, and consultants to implement concepts. Responsibilities
  • Prepare engineering and design documentation for new and renovation projects across facility types.
  • Conduct field investigations, review shop drawings, and produce contract drawings and reports.
  • Perform HVAC and energy calculations (building loads, pump sizing, energy modeling) compliant with regulations.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including local and regional offices, sub-consultants, utility companies, equipment vendors, and clients.
  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to move concepts to implementation.
Key requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • PE license or ability to obtain PE in any U.S. state
  • 5-15 years of relevant mechanical design and/or energy-related experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively
  • Active membership in relevant industry associations
  • High ethical standards and commitment to quality, teamwork, integrity
  • Capacity to manage multiple complex projects and oversee junior staff
  • Ability to work safely on job sites around mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Revit 3D experience (or similar) and AutoCAD
  • Able to travel locally in New England and occasionally to the East Coast
  • Valid driver's license
