Overview

In this role you will lead safety programs across Sub-Zero Group's two Arizona sites, driving injury prevention and regulatory compliance. You will partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize workstations and processes, investigate incidents, and shape safety policies. The role focuses on building a strong safety culture, training, and data-driven improvements, contributing to the company's commitment to integrity and excellence. Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety evaluations of processes and practices and guide redesigns to improve safety
  • Provide direction to supervisors to maintain safe areas and practices
  • Manage the STOP process and regulatory compliance activities (Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Laser Safety, Robotic Safety, Machine guarding)
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements
  • Lead accident investigations and ensure corrective actions across the organization
  • Manage the workers' compensation program and analyze injury data for trends
  • Develop and deliver safety training; coach supervisors and engineers on safety practices
  • Develop safety policies and procedures; manage related training strategies
  • Participate in safety teams; coordinate with outside agencies (OSHA, DNR, local fire departments, insurers)
  • Address environmental health compliance and sustainability activities
  • Attend meetings, manage budgets as assigned, and support cross-functional safety initiatives
Key requirements
  • Experience managing workers compensation programs
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Experience in safety within a manufacturing environment
  • OSHA compliance, machine guarding, laser training, robotics, and ergonomics training (seminars or ongoing education)
  • CSP certification or related field desirable
  • 10+ years progressive safety experience in manufacturing
