Overview In this role you will lead the Component Quality Engineering organization for OCI hardware, guiding silicon and component quality across GPUs, CPUs, memory, storage, networking, and related parts. You will build and mentor a team, align supplier quality with factory and field reliability, and drive rapid, data-driven RCCA and containment across high-priority hardware ramps. You will partner across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and repair to ensure risk is identified early and resolved with measurable impact. This position offers a strategic chance to shape quality ownership for scale hardware in AI and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities- Lead the Component Quality Engineering organization for critical silicon and hardware commodities across OCI programs
- Build and mentor a team of component quality engineers
- Own supplier-facing quality strategy and execution including metrics, RCCA, corrective actions, and escalations
- Manage quality engagement with suppliers across GPUs, CPUs, memory, storage, networking, optics, interconnects, power, thermal, PCBs, and L6 components
- Drive failure analysis and RCCA coordination for factory, integration, field, RMA, repair, NCAT, and SSP issues
- Set supplier quality expectations (DPPM, RPM, AFR/RMA, MTBF, containment, 8D, PCN review, CAPA)
- Collaborate with factory quality, manufacturing, design, sourcing, and field teams to connect component quality to outgoing quality and field risk
- Represent component quality risk in OK-to-Ramp/OK-to-Ship reviews with status on open issues and containment
- Create and maintain component quality risk registers with ownership and due dates
- Support NPI and production ramp readiness via qualification data review, process controls, PCNs, alternate-source plans, and new tech risks
- Lead cross-functional task forces for high-impact issues with clear problem statements and credible RCCA
- Provide executive-level communication on supplier quality risks, field trends, and recovery plans
- Develop engineers to strengthen technical depth, supplier influence, and cross-functional leadership
Key requirements- Experience leading teams in component quality, supplier quality, hardware quality, reliability engineering, manufacturing quality, or supply chain engineering
- Strong understanding of semiconductor and high-complexity hardware quality
- Ability to manage suppliers and sub-tier suppliers through containment, failure analysis, RCCA, and quality improvement
- Knowledge of DPPM, RPM, AFR, RMA, MTBF, yield, retest rate, failure pareto, and escape risk
- Experience supporting NPI, production ramp, sustaining quality, and field failure reduction
- Proven cross-functional problem-solving leadership across engineering, manufacturing, test, sourcing, planning, repair, field teams, and suppliers
- Strong decision-making under ambiguity and delivery pressure; excellent communication with executives
- Experience hiring, developing, and leading engineers in fast-paced technical environments
