Overview In this role you will provide global counsel on financial crimes and international trade, helping Bloomberg navigate sanctions, AML, anti-corruption and related laws across jurisdictions. You collaborate with Compliance and a broad set of stakeholders to design practical legal approaches for evolving regulations and business innovation. You will translate complex regulatory priorities for internal teams and draft robust contractual provisions. This position offers exposure across multiple business lines including tech, data services, and investments, within a fast-paced, collaborative culture. Responsibilities- Partner with stakeholders across the Company to support business initiatives and engage with clients, industry groups and government bodies
- Build and maintain legal expertise across financial crimes and international trade laws in various jurisdictions
- Develop globally workable frameworks addressing different regulatory approaches across jurisdictions
- Manage legal risks by partnering with Product, Sales, Engineering, Finance, Risk, Information Security and Compliance
- Conceptualize, advocate for, and implement practical legal solutions
- Draft contractual provisions for financial crimes and international trade across diverse relationships and handle escalations
- Prepare reports, applications, and responses to regulatory bodies
- Assist with internal investigations and remediations
Key requirements- JD degree
- 7+ years of legal experience in financial crimes or international trade at a law firm
- Strong drafting skills
- Broad curiosity about financial crimes and international trade laws and willingness to grow across disciplines and jurisdictions
- Ability to juggle multiple projects
- Flexibility and desire to learn and adapt to new services, products, and areas of law
