Overview In this role you lead digital delivery for HDR's Building Engineering team in the Mid-Atlantic, guiding digital coordinators and shaping the project's digital model environment. You'll collaborate with project managers to establish the Digital Delivery Plan and ensure high-quality digital deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. You'll mentor team members, oversee model health and document management, and partner with clients and leadership to drive efficient, coordinated design in line with HDR's mission of building engineering excellence.
Responsibilities- Direct the Digital Delivery Coordinators and Specialists and manage the project-level digital model environment
- Develop and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project initiation procedures with Project Manager
- Execute digital deliverables and support production teams across the project lifecycle
- Provide technical support and communicate deliverable schedules to the project team
- Monitor model health, coordination processes, and quality control from planning through construction documents
- Mentor and guide team members and coordinate with other Digital Delivery Leads
- Oversee development and maintenance of the DDP and document management system
- Ensure appropriate software, versions, access, and training for project requirements
- Create and maintain model setup (project information, coordinates, scales, views, sheets) to fit disciplines
- Maintain company standards and model health; lead Design Reviews and 3D coordination meetings
- Coordinate and compile project digital deliverables and exchange processes at milestones
- Engage with HDR management, staff, and clients through presentations and communications
- Mentor staff to develop skillsets and support Project Managers as needed
- Engage with other Digital Delivery Leads for guidance and support
Key requirements- Technical degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 5 years digital delivery (model management) experience
- Strong understanding of discipline relationships and building systems operations
- Advanced 3D design software and document management skills
- Advanced 3D coordination tool proficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication tools
- Familiar with industry standards, discipline codes, and specifications
- Familiar with automation, programming basics, add-ins for 3D design, and content management concepts
