Overview In this role you will oversee critical database environments across SQL Server and Oracle, driving high availability and migrations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement resilient data platforms at scale. You will optimize performance, execute complex backup, restore, and replication strategies, and guide migration efforts. This position contributes to client success and digital infrastructure delivery within a global technology services organization. You will work with cutting-edge AWS services and enterprise-grade database features to shape reliable data solutions.
Key requirements- 10+ years as a SQL Server DBA with production experience on SQL Server 2016/2019/2022
- 5+ years hands-on AWS experience (EC2, EBS, FSx, VPC, IAM) and related services
- 5-8 years migration experience using native backup/restore and AG seeding for SQL Server
- Strong Always On Availability Groups experience across multi-AZ topologies (listener and quorum design)
- 10+ years as an Oracle DBA with production 11g and 19c
- XTTS migrations across endian boundaries (AIX big-endian to Linux little-endian), preferably with multi-bucket parallelization
- 8+ years RMAN, Data Pump, and Oracle backup/recovery skills; FSxN snapshot/clone familiarity
- 5+ years AWS experience including AWS Backup, S3, EventBridge, Lambda, SSM Parameter Store
- SQL Server (Expert Level) and T-SQL
- Query tuning and execution plan analysis; Query Store and Extended Events
- Oracle 11g/19c with RMAN and Data Pump
- Always On Availability Groups
- AWS services: EC2, IAM, VPC, FSx, S3, EventBridge, Lambda, SSM Parameter Store, AWS Backup
- XTTS migrations across endian boundaries
