Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Equipment

Overview

In this role you will design and improve production equipment to enable scalable manufacturing of robotic solutions for BPH. You will lead equipment projects, troubleshoot non-conforming gear, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and throughputs. You will drive fixture development, process documentation, and test methods while advancing a culture of quality and innovation. This position offers the chance to shape production capability in a mission-driven company focused on patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Design and upgrade production equipment with a focus on ergonomics, reliability, and scalability
  • Revise equipment documentation and control systems to improve repeatability
  • Develop test equipment and coordinate with vendors for automated testing solutions
  • Lead root cause analysis of non-conforming equipment and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, electrical, and software engineers to integrate components
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide training to manufacturing personnel
  • Manage equipment/automation projects with timelines and resource planning
  • Maintain compliance with PROCEPT Quality Management System and regulatory policies
Key requirements
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years in mechanical design/manufacturing
  • Experience leading equipment projects in medical device or capital equipment manufacturing
  • Ability to rapid prototype and iterate on designs
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical drawings
  • Understanding of electrical principles and hand tools for fixtures
  • Experience developing/test protocols and writing engineering reports
  • Root cause analysis for mechanical assemblies and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SolidWorks
  • Basic coding experience for equipment automation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles and milling/lathing/bandsaw operations
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Experience with automation and machine design
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and quality/regulatory compliance
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of Gauge R&R testing methods
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects
