Overview In this role you lead and influence Instrumentation and Controls projects focused on networked architectures for industrial systems. You will guide design, configuration, and commissioning of ICS with robust network communication capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients worldwide. You'll address regulatory and cybersecurity requirements while shaping market strategies and growth initiatives. This position offers meaningful impact by delivering secure, reliable control solutions for critical industries.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership in control system engineering for design, configuration, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of ICS with networked communications
- Design, configure, and maintain industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFIBUS, OPC UA) ensuring reliable, secure communication
- Lead efforts to meet regulatory and cybersecurity requirements (NERC CIP, ISA/IEC 62443) for networked controls
- Support integration of digital devices (protective relays, sensors, actuators) with network capabilities
- Produce engineering deliverables (network diagrams, system architectures, cybersecurity risk assessments, feasibility studies)
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to implement network-centric control solutions for power, healthcare, and industrial apps
- Provide analysis and modeling for networked I&C systems and develop simulator algorithms to test communication integrity
- Engage with clients to understand network communication challenges, develop proposals, and present innovative solutions
- Identify opportunities for advanced network communication services and technologies aligned with client needs and growth
- Mentor team members on best practices for network communication technologies and implementations
- Identify and address system design weaknesses affecting communication performance and reliability
Key requirements- 5+ years of I&C experience in project/systems engineering
- Experience with DCS/PLC systems and related devices, networks, and communications
- Experience designing and operating communication/instrumentation systems in renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas, and/or oil & gas
- Familiarity with cybersecurity controls and vulnerability mitigation on field equipment
- Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, ISA standards; familiarity with vendor products (Emerson Ovation, GE, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Wonderware, Schweitzer RTAC, Schneider, Framatome)
