Overview In this co-op, you will analyze functional genomics data to study post-transcriptional gene expression regulation and work with leading scientists to interpret molecular biology experiments. You will document methods and results, and communicate findings to diverse stakeholders. The role sits at the intersection of bioinformatics and wet-lab collaboration, contributing to Bayer's research goals. This position offers exposure to industry-scale projects and cross-functional teamwork. You will help advance understanding of gene expression regulation in crop science contexts.
Responsibilities- Perform bioinformatic analysis of functional genomics datasets
- Collaborate with scientists to design, execute, and interpret experiments on post-transcriptional gene expression regulation
- Document research plans, methods, results, and data analyses
- Prepare and communicate reports and summaries to stakeholders
- Follow safety, standards, and compliance policies
- Prioritize and coordinate work within a larger team and across functional groups
Key requirements- Enrolled in MS or PhD program in Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Data Science, or related field
- Experience with gene expression data and analysis of large datasets; familiarity with cloud computing
- Ability to design, plan, and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results
