Overview As Manager, Network Engineer - F5 SME, you lead enterprise F5 ADC architecture and modernization within KPMG's Digital Nexus. You define strategic roadmaps, ensure high-availability across multiple data centers, and drive secure application delivery with advanced firewall and bot defense. You will automate provisioning and configuration, mentor teams, and coordinate cross-functional, mission-critical initiatives. Responsibilities- Serve as SME and lead architect for enterprise F5 ADC platforms, defining roadmaps, modernization, capacity planning, and DR architectures across datacenters
- Design and implement global/local load balancing, traffic steering, content switching, and programmatic traffic policies using iRules and iRulesLX in multi-region environments
- Architect, deploy, and manage F5 security solutions (AWAF/ASM, AFM, APM, Bot Defense, DDoS) with Zero Trust collaboration
- Drive DevOps integration by automating provisioning/config management and self-service deployment using Python, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, REST APIs, and IaC
- Establish operational standards, manage firmware/lifecycle, and resolve complex incidents through root-cause analysis of TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, routing, DNS, and auth flows
- Provide senior engineering leadership, mentor cross-functional teams, lead design reviews and technology assessments, and act as escalation point for critical platform events
- Act with integrity and professionalism to uphold KPMG's respectful work environment
Key requirements- Minimum five years in enterprise network engineering
- At least three years in dedicated F5 engineering and architecture in large-scale, high-availability environments
- Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required
- Advanced certifications strongly preferred (F5-CSE, F5-CTP, F5-CA, CISSP, CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure)
- Expert mastery of F5 BIG-IP ecosystem (LTM, DNS/GTM, APM, ASM/AWAF, AFM), BIG-IQ, and related hardware architectures
- Core networking and security expertise: BGP, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, routing/switching, Zero Trust, WAF/DDoS
- Hands-on network automation with Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, REST APIs, IaC; familiarity with Kubernetes ingress/service mesh or multi-cloud networking
- Proven track record in strategic tech planning, complex migrations, risk mitigation, and executive communication
