Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical installation quality for Amazon's next-gen material handling systems. You'll develop installation plans, set standards, and validate contractor work to prevent reliability issues from day one. You'll work closely with site teams and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless integration, commissioning, and turnover. You'll drive continuous improvement as equipment and projects scale, shaping best practices across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Develop installation job plans for MHE with torque specs, alignment tolerances, assembly sequences, and acceptance criteria
  • Author and maintain mechanical installation standards and pre-turnover criteria for all OMHS equipment
  • Apply failure mode knowledge to embed reliable installation practices into every plan
  • Validate field installation work, document deficiencies, and drive corrective actions to closure
  • Collaborate with site installation teams to interpret drawings, solve fit-up issues, and verify alignment and tolerances
  • Develop mechanical commissioning protocols and turnover packages for day-one readiness of RME teams
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, RME, and Construction to share best practices on mechanical installation
  • Analyze early-life failures to identify systemic installation quality gaps and feed corrections back into plans
  • Create training content for field supervisors and 3P crews on installation quality expectations
  • Represent OMHS I&D in cross-functional forums to share best practices on mechanical installation
Key requirements
  • 5+ years managing multiple large projects
  • 5+ years Reliability Program Manager experience
  • 5+ years Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • 5+ years maintenance or engineering experience
  • 3+ years in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments
  • 3+ years leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution through launch readiness and go-live phases
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or equivalent Amazon RME experience (BB/3P)
