eCAD Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead eCAD activities for PCB design in automotive exterior lighting and related electronics, ensuring robust layouts and clear documentation. You will work with global teams to meet electrical performance, reliability, and manufacturability goals while aligning with Flex-N-Gate standards. You'll drive end-to-end traceability, stack-up and routing strategies, and manufacturing outputs to support product launches. This position offers impact across engineering disciplines, from design reviews to production support, within a mission critical automotive context. You will help shape high quality electronic systems for scalable automotive solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain eCAD data for PCBs (schematics, layouts, manufacturing data)
  • Ensure compliance with standards, electrical performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Maintain traceability of layouts to requirements using tools (e.g., Altium, Polarion ALM, DOORS, Jama)
  • Collaborate with global eCAD, CAD, and manufacturing engineers to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain component libraries and documentation (symbols, footprints, attributes)
  • Develop PCB stack-ups, routing strategies, impedance control, and constraints
  • Generate manufacturing outputs (Gerbers, ODB , BOMs) and manage PCB projects
  • Provide electronic support to manufacturing plants and product engineering teams
  • Comply with ASPICE, ISO 26262, cybersecurity and related processes
  • Review OEM specs and integrate customer requirements into eCAD
  • Support DVP&R, DFMEA contributions, and system validation
  • Provide technical support during development, launch, and production for electronics issues
  • Maintain knowledge of automotive electronics technologies and communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN)
  • Create and present technical information through design reviews and documentation
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with eCAD in automotive electronics or similar complex systems
  • Working knowledge of ASPICE systems development and applying them to real projects
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 Functional Safety concepts at hardware interface level
  • Understanding of CAN, CAN FD, LIN, hardwire interfaces and EMC design rules
  • Experience in electronics design reviews, DFMEA, DVP&R, architecture development, or system validation
