Pre-Sales Field Engineer

In this role you will serve as a SME and primary technical resource to enable DoD and defense partners in deploying counter-UAS solutions. You will lead technical demos, guide field evaluations, and ensure security and compliance alignment. You'll coordinate with DoD stakeholders and internal teams to translate mission needs into actionable deployments, informing product direction from field insights. This role offers meaningful impact on defense readiness and hands-on field engagement.

• Lead product demonstrations and tailored technical briefings for DoD customers and program offices
• Plan and execute field trials/POCs on military installations or test ranges
• Coordinate with DoD end-users, acquisition officials, integrators, and internal teams
• Communicate operational capabilities and technical specs to diverse audiences
• Identify evolving DoD mission needs and C-UAS trends to support opportunities
• Engage with defense clients to analyze requirements and use cases
• Conduct on-site assessments, RF surveys, and environment studies for tailored deployments
• Lead field engineering activities and ensure successful deployments in DoD/secure environments
• Oversee system upgrades, firmware/software updates, and capability improvements
• Lead pre-installation/configuration, installation, and validation at DoD sites
• Draft site visit reports, test summaries, and technical findings for stakeholders and DoD clients

• Proven experience as Pre-Sales Field Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar in defense/homeland security
• Full-time in-office in Washington, D.C. metro area (no remote/hybrid)
• Excellent interpersonal, briefing, and presentation skills with SME capabilities
• Experience managing live system demonstrations, including logistics and on-site setup
• Background with tactical systems, RF, EW, SIGINT, or C5ISR in military/defense environments
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in fast-paced environments
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across CONUS/OCONUS, including military bases and ranges
• Technical aptitude in RF, electronic, or mechanical systems; on-site support ability
• Strong safety/compliance awareness for DoD field activities
• Attention to detail in documentation, field execution, and performance monitoring
• Effective communication to senior leadership and diverse audiences
• Analytical thinking to solve complex technical scenarios under pressure
• Operational flexibility to work outdoors and support after-hours or surge needs
