DevOps Platform Engineering Manager

Overview

In this role you guide a DevOps Platform Engineering team to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure solutions for a fast-paced private aviation technology environment. You will shape the platform strategy with cross-functional partners and drive cloud-to-on-premises initiatives, ensuring reliability and cost efficiency. You'll partner with architects, IT security, and business leaders to implement best practices and modern tooling. This is an opportunity to influence how we modernize infrastructure at scale and support multiple enterprise customers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop the DevOps Platform Engineering team, prioritizing deliverables and workload
  • Design the platform engineering strategy in collaboration with Solution Architects, IT Security, and business leaders
  • Develop policies and procedures for platform engineering
  • Architect and support provisioning and migration of infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments with security and continuity focus
  • Architect, design, and deliver solutions using existing components and adopt new technologies with best practices
  • Assist engineers in implementing and troubleshooting cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Collaborate with software architects to evaluate and pilot new cloud tools and frameworks
  • Establish standards for build, deploy, and monitoring tooling and document best practices
  • Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs across environments
  • Engage with vendors and partners as needed
  • Demonstrate flexibility with schedule and willingness to work extra hours
Key requirements
  • Bachelor or equivalent experience in computer networking or related field
  • 5+ years hands-on AWS and/or Azure experience
  • 5+ years managing virtual servers and SAN storage
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Experience collaborating with software developers to troubleshoot deployment challenges
  • Experience with cloud-native/cloud-first applications in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Experience with platforms like AWS MSK, API Gateway, IAM, DynamoDB, EKS; Azure Storage Accounts, Networking, Container Apps, KeyVault
  • Experience in a global enterprise
