Overview In this role you lead field activities for the shell and core of a large data center project, coordinating with general contractors, design teams, and stakeholders to deliver safe, on-schedule, and quality-focused construction. You manage sitework, foundations, structural, and enclosure work from early development through turnover. You'll drive schedule alignment, risk mitigation, and cross-discipline collaboration to support rapid, mission-critical delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear impact on project readiness and performance.

Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day construction management and field oversight for core and shell scope (sitework, foundations, concrete, structural steel, roofing, exterior envelope, architectural work).
- Oversee general contractors and trades to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, schedules, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage shell activities from site development to turnover to downstream trades.
- Monitor contractor performance, manpower, sequencing, productivity, and progress against the schedule.
- Coordinate with MEP, OFCI, commissioning, QA/QC, safety, and project controls to align shell activities with the data center delivery timeline.
- Identify schedule conflicts, constructability concerns, field issues, and risks; drive resolution.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change documents as needed.
- Lead construction coordination meetings, site walks, progress reviews, and contractor meetings.
- Ensure coordination between structural, architectural, civil, and MEP scopes at interfaces and penetrations.
- Monitor building envelope installation, waterproofing, roofing, and exterior systems to meet requirements.
- Partner with QA/QC to monitor inspections, punch lists, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Support leadership with schedule updates, progress reporting, risk identification, change management, and contractor performance assessments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress, field conditions, decisions, issues, and resolutions.
- Drive accountability while maintaining collaborative relationships across the project team.
- Support turnover and closeout of shell areas to MEP, equipment installation, commissioning, and operations teams.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with site-specific and project safety requirements.
Key requirements- 7+ years of progressive construction management experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or technically complex projects
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline (preferred) or equivalent experience
- Experience in ground-up core & shell construction including foundations, concrete, structural steel, roofing, exterior envelope, and architectural scopes
- Strong understanding of sequencing, constructability, scheduling, field operations, and trade coordination
- Experience overseeing GC, subcontractors, and multiple trades in fast-paced environments
- Ability to read/interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, RFIs, and submittals
- Knowledge of safety, quality control, inspections, punch-list, and closeout
- Experience coordinating shell work with MEP and mission-critical infrastructure is highly desirable
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills
